Welcome to the Nest, Ms. Grube & Pancake!

Pancake and Ms. Grube are feeling very welcome at South Hunterdon. Ms. Grube is entering her first year at South Hunterdon as the Middle and High School Agriculture Teacher. She has taught agriculture for three years and loves sharing everything she can about it with students. She is very pleased to be able to bring Pancake in to visit the middle and high school kids. 

Pancake loves to climb, eat his fruits and veggies, and meet all of Ms. Grube's amazing students! They both look forward to a great year at South Hunterdon! 

Art Class Celebrates Dot Day

Students at the middle school celebrated Dot Day on Tuesday, September 15th. Dot Day is inspired by the beloved book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. In the story, a student discovers that a simple dot can be the beginning of something creative and meaningful. 

Dot Day encourages us to celebrate creativity, confidence, and the unique mark each of us can make. In art class, students colored in a dot of their own! Each student’s unique dot became one piece of a larger work of art, showing what we can create when we work together.

Science Grades 5 & 6

Students in grades 5 & 6 explored their Science classroom, learning about safety practices and procedures. These safety practices and procedures will be used throughout the year as they learn through hands-on investigations and experiments. 

Students physically practiced using these safety tools and identified when it would be appropriate to use them. We are looking forward to exploring our Science topics and understanding our world more!

Archery

The long awaited Archery Unit has finally started! Students began by learning about safety, the 11 Steps of Archery Success, eye dominance, and the different parts of the bow and arrows. They progressed into shooting at the target, analyzed accuracy vs. precision, and even played some games like Tic Tac Toe. One of their favorite activities is popping balloons.
